The photographs in this series are all about the scenery along the Rio Tinto in Spain.
We were drawn to the extraordinary patterns and textures created by the continuous natural and historical pollution caused by mining upstream, going back to the Roman era.
Due to this, the water is very acid and has an orange to red tint in the dry season, while the colorful deposits of minerals and metals in mud and on stones give the scenery an otherworldly look that resembles nothing we usually associate with landscapes that we are familiar with.

TRANSPARENCITIES
Transparencities, a series of fourteen - older but never before released - abstract architectural photographs made in New York City and Chicago in 2008 and 2009.
It is about the habitat of the human species in the modern urban environment: the glass, the brick, and the steel typical of the current anthropocene era.
It is about alienation and isolation.
It is about a twisted reality of an urban environment that on the one hand is pretending to be “look through” or transparent, but at the other hand is divided into numerous compartments. As such the reflections and deformations of light and images create a feeling of estrangement and isolation in the modern urban world.

Autumn in the cypress swamps of the Atchafalaya Basin in Texas and Louisiana brings out the most warm colors and soft textures of the leaves of the cypress trees and the Spanish moss. In the quiet of the bayous on a misty morning the reflections in the water of the swamps give a painterly feel to the scenery. All photographs were shot handheld from a floating canoe, which requires a bit of navigational and floating skills. And a lot of patience to proceed slowly, slowly as to avoid the emergence of disturbing ripples on the water surface.
Atchafalaya Autumn as a series was awarded Silver in the Nature Category in the Px3 Prix de la Photographie de Paris aka Paris Photo Awards 2020.
The series also received an Honorable Mention in the 14th Annual Pollux Awards in 2019, Category Landscape.
